His main research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, information retrieval in the web, methodologies and tools for evaluating web usability, web accessibility, user modelling, educational technologies.He is a member of the HCI research group since December 2004 and member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) from 2004. Born in Kozani, 1982.

  1. [2011-Today]: Scientific partner and consultant on the subject of Human Computer Interaction for the Software Quality research group, Hellenic Open University.
  2. [2010 Feb.-2010 Nov.]: Research scientist in the Greek Army, unit of Information Science and Technology. During my military service, I was the administrator of a sub-network of the national military network and a software developer.
  3. [2009 Oct-2009 Dec]: Analysis, design and maintenance of a web-based application for the company LOGISTIKH YPOSTIRIKSI EPE
  4. [2008 Oct-2008 Nov]: Design and implementation of a web-based application for the company XARILAOS MARAS KAI SYNERGATES EPE.

Research Projects:

  1. [2010-2012]: The supportive role of robotic technology for sustainable agricultural development, ΑΕΙΦΟΡΙΑ/ΓΕΩΡΓΟ/0609 (ΒΕ)/06. The goal of the project is to develop a usable interactive system for the teleoperation of a robot engaged in agricultural activities.
  2. [2010–2012]: «E-XCELLENCE in a National, European and World perspective (NEXT)», Lifelong Learning Programme, Dissemination and Exploitation of Results and Exchange of Good Practice. The project aims to produce and develop appropriate tools and practices for quality control in distance education environments.
  3. [2006-2009]: Usability consultant in EU project entitled "QALIBRA - Quality of life - integrated benefit and risk analysis", FP6, FOOD-CT-2006-022957. The main goal of the project was to develop a suite of quantitative methods for assessing and integrating beneficial and adverse effects of foods, and make them available to all stakeholders as web-based software for assessing and communicating net health impacts.
  4. [2005-2007]: Researcher in national program entitled "Pythagoras II : Support of Universities' Research Groups- Ministry of Education" with research title "Human Computer Interaction: Research and development of predictive information foraging models in the World Wide Web". The project aim was to investigate predictive models of information seeking behaviour in the World Wide Web. The proposed approach built upon current theoretical cognitive models, such as information foraging.
  5. [2004-2007]: Researcher in EU project entitled "Demetra: Development of Environmental Modules for Evaluation of Toxicity of pesticide Residues in Agriculture", QLRT-2000-00691. The main goal of the project was to develop web-based software that would give a quantitative prediction of the toxicity of a molecule, in particular molecules of pesticides, candidate pesticides, and their derivatives.
  6. [2005-2006]: Researcher in EU project entitled "e-COMODE: Collaborative Modelling Environment", e-TEN/2004/1 - C517428. The main goal of the project was to implement and promote computer supported collaborative learning services in the schools of secondary education in countries all around Europe.
  7. [2004-2005]: Researcher in EU project entitled "TELL:Towards Effective network supported collaborative learning activities". The main goal of the project was to study and create methodologies for the evaluation of computer supported collaborative learning systems.

Computer Knowledge:

  • Very good lnowledge of Web technologies (DHTML, JavaScript, XML, PHP).
  • Very good knowledge of C, VB6, and .NET.
  • Very good knowledge of database design and SQL.
  • Some knowledge of object-oriented programming (JAVA).
  • Some knowledge of low-level programming languages (Assembly 8080/8086).

Honors and Awards

  • His proposal for the Action: 'Support of post-doctoral researchers' qualified among the 55 top proposals on a national level in the domain "PE6: Computer science and informatics", based on its peer-reviewed excellence as evaluated by an international pool of experts in the field. The total number of submitted proposals was 2569.
