====== Competition ====== This pattern is about competition between players or teams of players. **Competition** might be used as a or . It might be implemented between single players, or between teams of players or a mix of the two. **Competition** as a allows players to decide whether and how to compete during the game on the basis of some en:patterns:strategy they have devised. The possibility of **competition** or en:patterns:cooperation might also be just implied by the use of another pattern such as the balance cooperation and competition pattern or any of the patterns. ---- ===Example=== In a simple and effective form, **competition** could take the archetypical form of a race. Two or more competitors, who might be teams, try to reach the same location (commonly used in street games). The race pattern could be accompanied by player roles (e.g. cops and robbers). Competition is related with the achievement of a specific goal, like meeting the ending condition first, or achieving highest en:patterns:score first. ---- ===Related patterns=== cooperation between players information awareness regarding activities of other players team forming ---- === Related heuristics === en:heuristics:heuristics#3.4 en:heuristics:heuristics#3.7 en:heuristics:heuristics#4.4 en:heuristics:heuristics#5.1 en:heuristics:heuristics#5.3 ---- === Backlinks ===
