====== Puzzle ====== A **puzzle** is usually a question or a quiz that requires an answer by the player. The **puzzle** pattern does not refer to the whole game but only to parts of a game. For example, a game that is about finding a thief is not considered an example of the **puzzle** pattern as a whole, but smaller challenges might be **puzzles**. Solving or answering a **puzzle** might require from the player to * choose from a set of possible options, * provide an answer in the form of a word or sentence, * combine objects, or overcome other forms of , e.g. locating an object etc. * perform some primitive action. The information that is required to solve a **puzzle** might be embedded in the physical surrounding. The player might have to interact with the physical world to obtain it. The information might be attached to a digital object with which the player has to interact, e.g. to collect it or it might require the use of a tool, e.g. in order to point to it or to perform another primitive action. ---- === Related patterns === ---- === Related heuristics === en:heuristics:heuristics#3.5 ---- ===Backlinks===
