Cooperation
This pattern is about cooperation between players or teams of players. Cooperation might be used as a strong pattern or weak pattern.
It might be implemented between single players, or between teams of players or a mix of the two.
Cooperation as a weak pattern allows players to decide whether and how to cooperate during the game on the basis of some strategy they have devised. The possibility of cooperation or competition might also be just implied by the use of another pattern such as the balance cooperation and competition pattern or any of the interaction between players patterns.
Cooperation might arise from the need of players with different roles and abilities to achieve a common goal even if the don't belong to a team.
Cooperation can happen on many levels.
- Sharing or exchanging of information and objects
- Meetings and discussions for shared decision making
- Awarding roles, e.g. who will hold a piece of equipment (e.g. a smartphone) or cover an area etc.
