Economic transactions may concern digital objects or information. Use of such patterns might require the application of some strategy from the part of the player.

Patterns such as collecting and combining of digital objects might be prerequisites for economic transactions. They might also be part of a puzzle.

Economic transactions might be employed to regulate . For example cooperation or competition might be mediated through concepts of value and debt and also might be used to manifest relations between players (e.g. a player might owe some kind of service to another player).
