Climax

Climax is a stage of the game (often final), where the game concludes, information is disclosed, a winner is decided, etc. Climax is a pattern with strong influence from narrative technique. Narrative can imply and lead to a forthcoming climax.

The climax pattern often appears in a final stage and as such is associated with the fulfilment of an ending condition. Even if not in a final pattern, climax is in general a special conclusion of a chain of events.

Another way to view climax is as bottleneck towards which the flow of the game converges.
