On Both Sides of the Pacific: Hawaii & Japan – A CHI Student Volunteer’s Perspective
On May 21st we organized a get together at the lab with students from the local student community of Patras who share an interest in Human-Computer Interaction.
As part of the event, Damianos Dumi Sigalas, a recent graduate and research assistant of the lab, gave a presentation titled “On Both Sides of the Pacific: Hawaii & Japan – A CHI Student Volunteer’s Perspective”, where he shared his experiences as a Student Volunteer at recent SIGCHI conferences. His presentation included practical insights into the volunteering experience and tips on how students can get involved in major conferences, either through volunteering or other student-friendly opportunities.
The event also marked the farewell of Damianos from the lab, as he is moving to Germany for a summer research internship at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy. We wish all the best to Damianos and thank him for the tips and insights shared in his presentation!
