At the EICS 2026 conference (ACM Conference on Engineering Interactive Computer Systems, 2026) that was held in Patras, Greece in July 2026, Christos Sintoris presented a paper entitled “From Usability Heuristics to Human–AI Interaction: A Comparative Analysis of 30-Years of Design Guidelines” (https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3807968.3817088),
and Zisis Manouskos presented his PhD project in the Doctoral Consortium entitled “Methodologies and Tools for Supporting Decision-Making through Intelligent Knowledge-Based Systems”.

The Neuroengineering and Brain-Computer Interfaces Research Infrastructure at the University of Patras : https://www.linkedin.com/in/upatrasbci/, that is coordinated by the Interactive Technologies Laboratory, aims to provide academic researchers, students, and external partners with access to a wide range of systems for non-invasive brain and eye-activity measurement. With a focus on portable and versatile equipment, the infrastructure enables studies in naturalistic environments and supports interdisciplinary research across fields such as health sciences, engineering, education, business, and the humanities.

A new book has been published by Patras University Press, and distributed under Creative Commons licence that offers a practical and research-informed guide to understanding and designing location-based mobile experiences. It introduces key concepts, design principles, and evaluation methods for creating engaging location-aware applications, while drawing on real examples from cultural heritage, urban interaction, and mobile gaming. Readers will gain insight into both the technological foundations and the human-centered design challenges of creating experiences that respond meaningfully to place and context.
